Retention & Learning Resources
Welcome to the Retention and Learning resource page at Arrupe College where you’ll find support services and resources for improving study habits, time management, goal setting, organization, and so much more. We’re here to help you transition into a new role and build independent learning skills. Being a college student means needing to self-regulate, evaluate, and think critically about the “hows” of learning and managing your capacity. The academic coaches and peer educators can mentor you on how to manage assignments and due dates while keeping up with the various other roles and responsibilities you have in your life.
Who We Are

What we do
Academic Coaching
During one-on-one coaching sessions, students work with the Retention & Learning Coordinator on areas such as time management, organization, study skills, goal setting, and getting connected to additional resources as needed.
Embedded Peer Educators
Peer support is embedded into the first-year seminar course. Each ACUNI 101 class is assigned a 2nd year student who attends class and supports their fellow peers in a number of ways such as one-on-one meetings, designing and delivering weekly workshops on topics like financial literacy, writing support, and other practical strategies and tips to implement immediately.
Guided Study Circles
Study Smarter. Not Longer. Guided Study Circles are 1-hour sessions to learn and practice study strategies with focused time, breaks, and reflection, all in community.
Academic Progress Checks
Additional support is provided proactively to students on academic probation.
